Mammoth Lakes events and things to do today!

With Labor Day upon us things will be slowing down here in Mammoth Lakes. We call this the shoulder season and it's a great time to come to mammoth lakes for some fun with out the summer crowds.

During September the camping and fishing is still prime with warm days and cool nights perfect for sleeping. You will need to bring some extra warm gear for nights.

The weather can change at any time with a local dusting of snow being the normal for at least one day in September.  For most of the month things should be just clear and perfect.  More weather information at our mammoth lakes and mammoth mountain weather center.

Mountain Biking will be going strong with lift served action continuing till September 19th. After that you can still hit up the mammoth mountain bike park, but you will to have to earn your turns and peddle like the good old days.

Some of us wait all year for the riding in September and October. Check out our mammoth lakes and mammoth mountain mountain bike section for trails to ride in the park and in the Inyo national forest.

As I mentioned before fishing in the mammoth lakes area should be great not only the next month but most of October as well. Stocking will continue weekly in most areas and as the water cools down the feeding freeze will go off.

You can expect cold morning to start your fishing days so be prepared with warm and cold clothing as things warm up quickly during the day's.

If you have questions use the face book page for a quick answer from our staff our on of our discover mammoth face book fans.  Here is a list and guide to mammoth lakes events for the next few weeks.

Have a great day Snowman out...
