More Fishing News
Rumors have been floating about no stocking, but most area waters have now been cleared. And lets remember they stocked all area waters at the end of last season with more fish then normal. All of this fuss is over the willow fly catcher bird. Read more of the anti hype here: http://www.outdoornewsservice.com/odpkg/news/current.html

Also in from the DFG is that you no longer have to display your fishing license while out fishing. You must have it on your person but the regulations stating that you had to have it out above the waste is now dropped. We recommended everyone read this year regulations before assuming you know what's legal in 2010. PDF file with the current fishing Regulations from DFG.

Mammoth Lakes & Eastern Sierra Fishing Information and Ideas

Mammoth Lakes has several fishing shops that can meet the needs of all three styles of fishing.  Most shops also have gear and float tube rentals. We recommend you try The Trout Fly right next to The Ski Renter and the Mammoth Lakes Shell station.

They have everything you need no matted what type of fishing you are into. They also have a team of great guides that can get you hooked up big time. The Trout Fly also has the best online fish reports on the internet so check that out.

Some fishing adventures that you must experience are: Lake Mary searching for the monster Alpers Trout, Mammoth Creek after they Stock DFG Trout or Alpers Trout, fly fishing Mc Gee Creek below Convict Creek, fly fishing with the Crowley Lake Midge, the East Walker river with a guide, Hot Creek, and many more.  We will be bringing you many of these adventures in video & images along with full write ups and maps.

A great experience for the kids is the hot creek fish hatchery.  Just a 5 minute drive south out of Mammoth, you can park and walk the main water way at the hatchery.  Bring change so you buy some feed for the fish.
